$20K grant for Au Sable Forks' Downtown Revitalization

AU SABLE FORKS | PRIDE of Ticonderoga, a rural preservation nonprofit organization dedicated to community development, has announced a $20,000 grant from New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) through Round XIII of the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative. This grant is designated to support a comprehensive revitalization initiative in the historic downtown of Au Sable Forks, focusing on enhancing the area's architectural character and fostering economic vitality. The grant will enable PRIDE of Ticonderoga to spearhead a multifaceted revitalization plan in the hamlet of Au Sable Forks. The initiative will encompass crucial elements such as facade recommendations, building reuse analyses, interior renovation studies, and the formulation of design guidelines. These strategic interventions aim to preserve the area's historic essence while propelling economic growth and revitalization. "The $20,000 grant from New York State Homes and Community Renewal is a testament to our dedication to revitalizing downtown areas and preserving historical significance," stated Nicole Justice Green, the Executive Director at PRIDE of Ticonderoga. "This funding will facilitate our efforts to implement impactful strategies that not only enhance architectural aesthetics but also invigorate economic prospects for Au Sable Forks. The New York Main Street program, administered by HCR, focuses on providing financial resources and technical assistance directly to nonprofit organizations and municipalities. This initiative aims to bolster economic vitality in traditional Main Streets and neighborhoods through targeted commercial and residential redevelopment, fostering sustainable growth and enriching community life.
