Carrie Black, candidate for Warren County Clerk Qualifications/Experience for office sought Having built a successful career in finance and accounting, I have obtained my B.S. in Business Administration, B.A. in Mathematics, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and am a Certified Paralegal. I am currently the Director of Auxiliary Services at SUNY Adirondack — my previous roles include Controller, Corporate Planner, Staff Accountant, Accounting Associate, and Office Manager. I have a proven track record of maintaining budgets, negotiating contracts, leading teams, collaborating across departments, providing exceptional service, and developing innovative ideas. Also, I am endorsed by the current Warren County Clerk Pamela Vogel and the CSEA which represents the county employees in the County Clerk's office. Top issues/Objectives if elected: I believe it's important to note that this marks the first time in 20 years that Warren County will have a new clerk. Regardless of the election outcome, there will be a learning curve. My primary objective is to actively listen to our dedicated staff, comprehending their insights, concerns, and the daily challenges they face in serving our community. This role carries immense significance, and I hope that the people of Warren County can look beyond party affiliations and focus on the responsibilities at hand. This elected position should not be a political one. I am confident that my work experience aligns perfectly with the County Clerk's role. A top priority for my term as County Clerk is to collaborate with our staff, CSEA, and our NYS Department of Motor Vehicles to address the high-impact needs of the Warren County DMV. While appointments have proven effective and efficient, we must also enhance accessibility for all residents. I plan to research grant funding for mobile services to extend these benefits to our rural communities. Furthermore, I aim to streamline the complex NYS Pistol Permit procedures, collaborating across departments and applying my operational analysis experience to improve processing times. I am committed to maintaining a high level of responsiveness and responsibility within the professional community, including the legal, finance, and real estate sectors. I will uphold the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of the County Clerk's office, never losing sight of its essential role in Warren County. My vision is to bring innovation, inclusivity, and efficiency to this vital office while preserving its core duties. Emily McCarthy, candidate for Warren County Clerk Qualifications/Experience for office sought: • Bachelor's Degree in Policy Analysis & Management, Cornell University; Master's Degree in Humanities emphasizing Law & Public Policy, Duke University; Master's Degree in Education/School Counseling, College of Saint Rose. Studies focused on the impact that government policies/programs have on people and our economy. • I have 17 years of public service; a commitment to community service, and a passion for serving Warren County. I've served as a Deputy Elections Commissioner. • Community involvement includes working with children with disabilities and volunteering as a Domestic Violence Hotline Counselor. • Endorsed by dozens of area Republican officials. Top issues/Objectives if elected: My campaign is built on community engagement and direct input from the Warren County residents. I've personally visited 6,000 voters and met with car dealers, firearm licensees, real estate attorneys, veterans, and town clerks. This has allowed me to truly understand the needs and desires of our community. I aim to reopen the DMV office for walk-ins on weekdays, restoring the convenience we once had before COVID. I plan on continuing to offer DMV appointments as an option. Additionally, I'm committed to re-launching the F.A.V.O.R. Discount Card Program for local veterans. I intend to collaborate closely with the county's Veterans' Services Agency to ensure that our local veterans' groups are well-informed about the program. We will work together to make it easier for our veterans to access the benefits. I have knowledge and first-hand experience of the procedures of county Pistol Permit Bureau transactions. Eight gun shops in Warren County have endorsed me because they believe with my 17 years' experience working in the public sector and first-hand knowledge of the pistol permit process, I am the most qualified person to lead the County Clerk's Office and Pistol Permit Bureau. My goal as County Clerk is to make our office more accessible, responsive, and supportive of the needs of our community. It has been enlightening to have so many conversations with so many voters. I have a passion for my community and am dedicated to serving Warren County. As a lifelong resident, I take tremendous pride in raising my family here. Together, we can build a Warren County that honors its traditions while embracing progress and innovation.
