QUEENSBURY | Dear Warren County residents, my name is Christine Norton, and I am truly excited - and honored - to be your next Warren County Treasurer. While I am fortunate enough to be running unopposed in the upcoming November 7th election, I wanted to share with you my personal and professional background, both of which make me uniquely qualified to serve you. I was raised in Warren County, and it has – and will always be - home to me. I am a Queensbury High School, SUNY Adirondack, and Siena graduate/alumni. I worked my way through college at many of the establishments that still exist in our community today. I am also an avid Adirondack outdoor enthusiast, whether skiing, hiking, biking or boating! While I enjoyed a wonderful corporate career, I am thrilled to be back home and would like to share my skillset to the greatest extent possible…and what better way than to serve the individuals and businesses that helped shape the successful professional that I am today! In summary, I am a Finance (CPA), Ethics & Compliance, and Process Improvement Professional, in the Audit, Regulatory and Consulting space, with 25+ years of experience with some of Corporate America's top Companies: MasterCard, PepsiCo, Accenture, Bristol Myers Squibb and PricewaterhouseCoopers. As your Treasurer, I pledge to promote: 1) Transparent Financial Management: I will maintain transparency in all financial matters, ensuring residents have access to up-to-date financial information and understand how their tax dollars are being utilized. 2) Fiscal Responsibility: I will work diligently to ensure that the county budget is balanced and fiscally responsible. 3) Process Improvement: I will analyze processes and procedures, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency in financial operations. 4) Collaboration: I understand the importance of collaboration with other government entities, community organizations, and stakeholders to achieve financial goals. I will work hand-in-hand with all to make informed decisions that benefit everyone; and 5) Accessibility: I will be accessible to the residents of our community to gather input, answer questions, and address concerns about financial matters. I have an open-door philosophy and I hope you stop in and say hi, ask questions and share your ideas and your concerns. In addition, I am proudly endorsed by Mike Swan, our Warren County Treasurer of the past 12 years, who enthusiastically said "With a deep commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and a passion for serving the community she grew up in, Christine is the right choice to lead Warren County's financial management into the future.
