Essex Co. Board of Elections announces polling location changes

ELIZABETHTOWN | The Essex County Board of Elections announced changes to polling locations for the Town of Moriah and the Town of Elizabethtown. All voters in the Town of Moriah will now vote at the Moriah Fire House on Tarbell Hill Road. The bipartisan Board of Elections decided to reduce Moriah polling locations from two to one to maximize resources. "Consolidating two polling locations into a single location will make it easier for voters in Moriah to cast their ballot," Commissioner Jack Moulton said. "We will be able to increase the number of staff, add an additional ballot scanner and increase the time our machine technician can spend in the poll site. All of this should translate to a better and quicker voting experience for Moriah's voters." For voters in Elizabethtown, the bipartisan Board of Elections has selected the Elizabethtown Fire House on Woodruff Street as the new polling location for Elizabethtown's voters. "After much consideration, and feedback from the community, we have decided to move the Elizabethtown polling location to the Fire House," Commissioner Mary McGowan said. "This new location will give voters a more accessible location, with generous parking and a larger space to ensure voters have privacy while marking their ballots."
