Lucas Scott Wilson

QUEENSBURY | Lucas S. Wilson, 60, of Putnam Station passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Born in Middlebury, Vt., April 4, 1963, he was the son of the late Richard L. Wilson and Helen B. (McMeekin) Sears. Luke was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, a farmer, construction worker, and entrepreneur. Most recently, Luke worked for Peckham Industries based in Hudson Falls, N.Y., as a heavy equipment operator. Luke was a member of the Warrensburg Lodge #425, Free & Accepted Masons, the Oriental Shriners, and the New Hope Community Church. Anyone who knew Luke realized he was a one-of-a-kind, complex person. Luke was a compassionate man, devoted to and fiercely protective of his kids. He would help anyone that needed it and loved being the greeter at his church. You always knew when Luke entered the room. He had a larger-than-life personality, an even bigger heart, and an infectious smile. He worked hard and played harder. He loved fast cars, dogs and flowers. Luke was a hopeless romantic who often brought the women in his life flowers. Luke always made sure his mother and father knew how much he loved them. Simply put, he was a loving father, brother, uncle, and son. He was predeceased by his father, Richard L. Wilson. He is survived by his son, Taylor Wilson; daughter, Alyssa Wilson; and their mother and his former wife, Carol Matteson-Wilson of Queensbury; mother, Helen Sears of Ticonderoga; brothers Barry (Paula) Wilson and Darrell (Jeanene) Wilson of Putnam Station; sister, Mary (Anthony) Sears-Mazzotte of Ticonderoga; six nieces and nephews: Janelle (Ryan) Starr, Justine Wilson, Delaney (Joshua) Titus, Kristopher Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Joseph Mazzotte; and three great-nieces: Norah Starr, Margeaux Starr, and Eileen Titus. Relatives and friends called on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service followed at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Stappenbeck of the New Hope Community Church of Queensbury officiated.
