Ti's End of Winter Carnival & Fireworks is back

TICONDEROGA | The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP) and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) will coordinate with local organizations and businesses to host the ninth Annual Ticonderoga End of Winter Carnival and Fireworks, March 3 and 4. This family-friendly event will take place indoors and out. Indoor activities include Movie Night, a magic show, and children's "zoo" experience. Outdoor activities will include free snowmobile rides, a campfire, and fireworks display. Business promotions and specials will also be offered throughout the weekend. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS (subject to change) Friday, March 3, 4:30-6:30 p.m.: Punky Kids' Zoo Day at Punky Noodles In a kind of science fair set-up, children participating in this "zoo" get to be "zookeeper" of their chosen animal. A $5 donation per child is asked. 5 p.m.: Family Movie Night at Best Western Plus in Ticonderoga Doors open at 4:30, and the movie begins at 5 p.m. Popcorn will be provided and a special event menu will be available for purchase from the Burgoyne Grill. Adult supervision and pre-registration required. Call the Best Western at 518-585-2378. Movie will be announced by Best Western. Saturday, March 4, 9-11 a.m.: Ice skating and hot chocolate at the Ticonderoga Skating Rink Open-invitation skating for everyone at the Ticonderoga Skating Rink. Hot chocolate and a limited supply of ice skates will be available. Event is weather permitting. Adult supervision required. 11-11:45 a.m.: Super Circus with Mr. Fish at the Ticonderoga Armory Catch Mr. Fish in his juggling, balancing and magic act. Audience may become part of the show. 12-2 p.m.: Carnival games at the Ticonderoga Armory Games, prizes, food, bounce house, face art, music, giveaways, and more. Lunch from 802 Longshots will be available for purchase. 2-4 p.m.: Snowmobile rides at the Ticonderoga Recreational Fields Complimentary snowmobile rides provided by the Adirondack Trailriders will be available for children and families. Weather and snow permitting. If rides are canceled, snowmobiles and grooming equipment will be on display. 7:30 p.m.: Campfire and s'mores at the Fishing Pier in Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park Warm up by the fire and enjoy a complimentary s'more prior to or during the fireworks. 8 p.m.: Fireworks display at Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park Bicentennial Park and surrounding area will be open for fireworks viewing. No vehicles will be permitted in the park. To enjoy the fireworks from the comfort of your vehicle, park it in a safe and legal spot. A variety of business promotions and specials will also be available March 3 and 4.
