Nolette's Metal Roofing expands into manufacturing

MOOERS FORKS | Cory and Kacy Nolette, owners of Nolette's Metal Roofing Supply & Installation, both got into the roofing business for the simple reason of being able to do something they enjoy. "Working for yourself, doing something in your field of work that you enjoy," Cory said. Kacy added, "Yeah, doing something that you're passionate about." The brothers have been able to take their passion and grow it into a thriving business, one that has been undergoing some expansion over the past year. "We've been doing installations for just a few years, a few short years, and then we started manufacturing just within this past year," Kacy explained. What really drove the Nolettes to transition their business from just installation to include manufacturing as well, was the quality of the materials they were receiving. "Everything that we were getting was a terrible product. There was a really long wait to get it. So basically the wait time and the quality of what we had to buy, 'cause we'd order it and it'd take two to three weeks if not longer to get, and the quality wasn't the best," said Kacy. The brothers traveled across the country visiting different facilities and going to conventions to see where the best product was coming from. "We weren't satisfied with what we were purchasing from local vendors, so we traveled across the country and visited several other facilities out West to see where the, you know, where the best product was coming from and then we basically got a patent, and they patented us some toolings. So it's a pretty cool setup for just starting off," Kacy stated. In addition to manufacturing Snap-Lock Standing Seam Metal Roofing, Nolette's Metal Roofing Supply & Installation also manufactures Ag Panels, Board-and-Batten Metal Siding, and custom trim. Nolette's Metal Roofing Supply & Installation is the only business in Northern New York that is manufacturing Board-and Batten-Metal Siding. "Any custom trim to go along with it or just anything if somebody needs you know, like, we're making a lot of trim right now for a company that's working on the NCCS high school, so we're fabricating a lot of their metal for that job and just other, you know, pretty much a custom trim shop," said Kacy. The brothers are determined to supply their service base, which covers New York and Vermont with the quality products they deserve, at an affordable price. "We're trying to bring a high-end quality product to our area without the high prices, you know, at a real affordable price, and we'd just like to have people be able to get the products, you know, a quick turnover rate," said Kacy. The work that Nolette's Metal Roofing Supply & Installation has done can be seen throughout the North Country. "We do a lot of commercial and residential work," said Cory. One day the brothers hope to open a "roofing super store" but aren't sure when that will be yet. Kacy said, "But it definitely is in the future."
