ADK Regional Theatre looking for talent

PLATTSBURGH | Adirondack Regional Theatre (ART) is bringing "The Sound of Music" — Rogers and Hammerstein's classic musical — to their Plattsburgh stage this season and is now looking for fresh talent. Actors of all ages are invited to audition at the Strand Center Theatre on Saturday, Jan. 28, and Sunday, Jan. 29. These open auditions will be held on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days, with group dance calls to be held at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. each day. All actors must attend one of the dance calls on the day of their audition and should be prepared with appropriate clothes, including dance shoes. Auditions will take place at the Strand, 25 Brinkerhoff St. in Plattsburgh. Auditionees should prepare 30 to 60 seconds of any song that showcases their voice a cappella (i.e., without instrument accompaniment). For those having difficulty choosing a song, some suggestions are "Edelweiss," "My Favorite Things," or "Do-Re-Mi."Open auditions for ART's upcoming production of "The Sound of Music" will take place at the Strand, 25 Brinkerhoff St., Jan. 28 and 29. Callbacks will be held at the director's discretion on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the ART Studio and Warehouse, 5 Latour Ave., Plattsburgh. Audition forms can be found at adktheatre.com/audition.
