Firefighters battle blaze at Integrity Towing

BEEKMANTOWN | Fire crews from multiple departments spent the afternoon battling a massive fire at Integrity Towing in Beekmantown. The afternoon blaze was reported at about 3 p.m. Sunday bringing crews from numerous departments to the well-known tow company along Route 22. Flames erupted from the roof and side of the building as crews from the Beekmantown, District No. 3, West Chazy fire departments were soon helped by mutual aid support from the Tanker Task Force, including from Altona, Chazy, Cumberland Head. South Plattsburgh and City of Plattsburgh fire departments. Additional manpower, aerial trucks and fill pumpers were called in to fight the flames as they wound into the evening hours and snarled traffic along the state highway. Clinton County Sheriff's officials asked drivers to avoid the area between Route 374 and West Hill Road. Volunteers from other area departments, including Mooers and Cadyville, provided standby support during the response. A charred shell of the large three-bay garage still stood at nightfall but the blackened interior showed signs of a roof collapse and widespread damage with debris covering what still remained inside. Crews remained at the site at 7:30 p.m. when the state highway was reopened for travel. No further details were available at that time. Morrisonville Fire Department also assisted with the response and offered heartfelt condolences to the Racine family following their loss. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dan and the entire Integrity team. They have done a lot over the years for many area departments. Whether providing a free tow to a fire truck in need, doing our chassis service on your trucks and always doing what they can to fit our trucks into their busy schedule. We hope for a speedy rebuild," Morrisonville crews said after the blaze.
